Moonwash 2019
Throughout history, women who dared to think for themselves were accused of being under the moon's influence. Moonwash is for them: the independent thinkers, the change-makers, the ones who made the room we now stand in.
A pastiche of six figures, among them Noor Jehan, Joan of Arc, Cleopatra and Noor Inayat Khan, in silk and yarn reclaimed from Khamir in Gujarat, handwoven in Rajasthan using pattu and extra-weft techniques revived in Chomu.
